2009 INDIANA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
September 18, 19 and 20 at Edinburg, IN

Thanks to everyone for making this year’s Indiana State Championship a great success!!

Special thanks to Indiana Regulators for setting the courses, Range mastering and the awesome job done taking care of the arena!  Also, to those who helped with the computer and balloon setting, a special thank you!  

The three day event brought 78 shooters from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Tennessee.

Friday night’s Eliminator had 43 shooters with Greg Couch winning Men’s’ Division I, Jeff Haynes Division 2, John St Clair Division 3.  Winner in the women’s class were Leanne Weaver Division 1, Alexis Knauss Division 2 and Amanda Porter Division 3. 

The Overall cowboy for the main match was Dave Ferguson a senior level 6 shooter from Ohio.   Reserve Overall winner was Eric Nelson, also a level 6 shooter from Ohio.   Women’s Overall winner was Adrianne Fowler from Indiana and Reserve Overall winner was Amanda Porter from Tennessee. Adrianne Fowler and Rick Deckena were Indiana “high point” Overall winners.   Also, congratulations to all those who won their Division!

After shooting 5 stages on Saturday everyone gathered and shared their favorite dish at the “pitch in” Saturday night for a hot and tasty meal. Sunday morning started with Cowboy Church with Bryan McDonald sharing a special message.  The competition ended with one final stage of the main match and two rifle stages.

Howdy Cowboys and Cowgirls. Just wanted to let everyone know that if you're planning on coming to the July shoot, State road 44 is closed between Connersville and the show grounds. If you're planning on coming to us from the east and using 44 you need to turn left at the road block on 350 east and then right on Orange Pike. This will bring you out to 44 where you'll turn right, go through the road block to the show grounds. Any one coming through Rushville will need to drive straight though the road block to the show grounds as normal. The Back Road Riders have ask me to let you know the concession stand will be open Friday night , Saturday and Sunday with breakfast being served Sunday morning. Pleas forward this on to anyone you might think may be attending.

 - Nanny Oakley - Karen Lee  - (a paramedic) for her many years of stepping in to help with our numerous medical emergencies foremost Dan Apps Heart attack. - Awarded free membership to IRR for 2009

 - Barb Ruwe - For filling in for Sparky Claypool our announcer when he was laid up from a motorcycle wreck and could not announce. Saved the club lots of aggravation not to mention $.  The club awarded a free IRR club membership for 2009
